Get Involved: Youth in Action

Our Challenge is to highlight 100 Youth In Action across the country. Send in your photo and contribution to IBD and the CCFC and get added to the count.

Amanda shared her personal story of how IBD has had an impact on her life at the November Education Symposium in Calgary.
Amin is a member of the Oakville Chapter and is HNW Chair for 2010.
Danielle Winters (Edmonton) has been involved with CCFC activities since she was a HNW poster child for Edmonton.
Emma gave an inspirational talk at the Vancouver 'CCFC & You' Education Symposium in November 2009.
Nikki is working to start a Winnipeg Youth Committee to help get more youth out at local events.
Jordan Steinhauer (Eastern Avalon) is on the 2009-2011 CCFC Youth Advisory Council- bringing the perspective of high school students affected by IBD to the group.
Steph Syer was thrilled to work in a CCFC funded lab at McMaster.
Katherine Bramble has been involved in both Ontario and New Brunswick as a CCFC volunteer.
Colleen Lynn MacDonald (Lake Melville Chapter) has written a Media Relations Critique and a Presentation for her work on CCFC activities.
Michael Kelly is a top pledge earner from London Ontario.

Ashley (FVE) has been a top pledge earner for three years raising over $4500 to help find the cure! (She is also the newest member of the YAC)
Andrew (London Chapter) was an M&M store captain in London and helped make the day a huge success in the area.
Melina (London Chapter) has been a solid member of the London Chapter since the group was struggling to find volunteers and has played an important role in its revival by taking a role on the Executive as Chapter Secretary.
Aric (London Chapter) helped form the first CCFC Health Professionals Awareness Team and organize a very successful education event in London.
Meghan (London Chapter) had her first opportunity to 'educate' others about IBD and spoke to the staff at the Middlesex Terrace Long Term Care Home in Delaware, Ontario this past spring.
Elliott joined an education event of the Richmond Hill Chapter and shared his personal experiences with IBD and the CCFC to the youth members. They were thrilled!
Natalie participated in a volunteer fair at MUN (Memorial University Newfoundland) and gave out brochures and information- great IBD awareness to youth!
Kyle started 'The Gutsy Generation on Campus' at the University of Alberta.

Nita hosted a Samosa Sale in the Faculty of Human Ecology to "expose" the CCFC and raise money! With the money she was able to design T-Shirts for her and other youth to wear at the Winnipeg HNW.

Kaella used her media connections to get the local Edmonton CTV out to the Get Gutsy Get Involved Youth Workshop. It didn't hurt that Fernando Pisani, hockey player extraordinaire, was there to talk about his experience with IBD!

Janelle has been involved in (and raised pledges for) Heel 'n' Wheel athons for 5 consecutive years!  In 2006 she attended events in two different cities!

Lori is the Edmonton HNW Chair for 2008. Way to go girl!
Jennie is on the Parade Committee for Halifax. Who wouldn't want to be on that one??
Courtney held a Battle of the Bands fundraiser in her hometown of Wallaceburg Ontario and sold out the bar....and raised $2400 doing it!
