My name is Natasha and I just turned 15. I have been living with Crohn’s disease for six years now. Over the past six years, I have had to miss a lot of school and other activities because of this disease. I have had to stay in the hospital for weeks at a time- missing out on just being a teenager.
This year I am on a new medication which makes me feel a lot better. When I am well I try to enjoy life to the fullest because with Crohn’s one day I am perfectly fine and the next I am very sick. Being a teen spokesperson for the 2009 Heel ‘n’ Wheel-a-thon is very important to me because having Crohn’s has opened my eyes to just how much we take for granted.
With the support of my family and friends, I have been a top pledge earner every year since 2005. I look forward to the event each year. It is a great way to spend quality time as a family. This year I am asking you to join with me and my family in making this event the best one yet. Whether you sponsor a participant or get involved yourself, your support is important.
